Lovie Smith, former head coach of the Chicago Bears, has been hired by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to replace Greg Schiano as head football coach. Smith led the Bears to the Super Bowl in '06 where they fell to Peyton Manning on a rainy Miami night. I love this signing mostly because Smith never should have been fired in the first place. This is an absolute steal for the Bucs snatching a coach with a .563 regular season winning percentage. On the other hand, Lovie Smith was hated by a lot of Bears fans towards the end of his career, but the Tampa fan base seems to be more embracing of their former Linebackers coach who coached up a young Derrick Brooks.
